25% Uniform Discount and 3-Month Deferral Maintained for Small Business Owners and Private Operators
Payment Deadline June 30, Pay at Banks, Virtual Accounts, or eTax... Late Payments Subject to Penalties
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will implement a 25% reduction policy on road occupancy fees to alleviate the economic burden on small business owners and others struggling due to rising prices and economic downturn.
Road occupancy fees are mainly imposed when administrative property roads are occupied for purposes such as installing access roads to commercial establishments. The reduction targets private business operators and individuals such as small business owners, excluding those who have received temporary road occupancy permits.
The district started the reduction policy in 2020 considering the difficult economic conditions after COVID-19, and will maintain the reduction this year to provide practical help in overcoming economic hardships.
Additionally, the district has changed the regular billing period for road occupancy fees from March to June, easing the economic burden on residents by providing a three-month deferral period.
Furthermore, the district billed occupancy fees for the usage period from January to December this year, with 1,342 cases billed for the regular road occupancy fees. Through this policy, approximately 1.7 billion KRW was reduced, with a total of about 5.428 billion KRW billed.
Eligible individuals can receive the reduction benefits automatically without a separate application, and the payment deadline is June 30. Payment methods include visiting financial institutions, using dedicated virtual accounts, or the e-Tax website. However, if the payment deadline of June 30 passes, an additional charge of 3% of the tax amount will be imposed.
If you have lost your bill or have other inquiries, you can contact the district office’s Street Landscape Division for detailed guidance.
