Plans to Develop Busan as a Global Game Content Hub City
Kim Chiyong, Professor of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University (Director of External Cooperation, Chair of the Planning and Finance Advisory Committee of the Busan Metropolitan Council), delivered a presentation on the topic "Strategies for Establishing Busan as a Global Game Content Hub City" at the "2024 First Half Planning and Finance Advisory Committee Meeting" held in the medium conference room on the 2nd floor of the Busan Metropolitan Council on June 20.

View original imageThe event, organized by the Planning and Finance Committee of the Busan Metropolitan Council (Chairman: Council Member Kim Kwangmyung), was held to support legislative activities and seek policy alternatives for major municipal issues. More than 10 participants, including committee-affiliated city council members and advisory committee members, attended the event.
Professor Kim emphasized, "Busan already has the potential and infrastructure to grow as a city specialized in cultural content centered on games. To make more active use of this infrastructure, establish games as a core cultural content, and prepare for fierce global competition in the future, it is necessary to develop more specialized training programs, such as master's and doctoral courses in game studies."
