The author, Mr. A, pointed out, "Even if it was an act committed by a public official of a district, it clearly seems to be a serious offense that tarnished the image of Daegu, which the mayor has been working hard to improve." In response, Mayor Hong briefly replied, "The Jung-gu district mayor will take appropriate measures."
Earlier, on the 13th, Mr. A, who runs a chicken restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu, posted on the self-employed online community 'Apeunikka Sajangida' (Because It Hurts, I’m a Boss) exposing the gapjil behavior of a Jung-gu district office employee. Mr. A claimed that on the 7th, four people, including a Jung-gu district office employee, deliberately poured beer on the floor of his restaurant and verbally abused his wife. He also reported that Mr. B and his group said, "I am a district office employee here; no one in the neighborhood doesn’t know me," and "I have never seen a restaurant like this. I will make sure your business fails immediately." After it was revealed that all four members of Mr. B’s group were public officials of Jung-gu district office, a scandal erupted, prompting the district mayor to issue an apology and take steps to resolve the issue.

On the 18th, Jung-gu district office posted an apology titled "We Sincerely Apologize" on the district office’s website under the name of Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha. In the apology, Mayor Ryu stated, "We apologize to the owner of the business, the residents, and many others who have come across this incident regarding the controversy caused by the Jung-gu district office employee’s beer incident." He added, "To address everyone’s concerns about this incident, regardless of the reasons, we will conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the truth and take all necessary administrative actions based on the results."
