Gwangsan-gu Facilities Corporation in Gwangju Conducts Volunteer Activities Visiting Local Grape Farms
The Gwangsan District Facilities Management Corporation in Gwangju Metropolitan City visited local farms to carry out volunteer activities involving bagging grapes.
On the 19th, the Gwangsan District Facilities Management Corporation conducted volunteer work at a farm in Chunghyo-dong, Buk-gu, together with the Gwangju Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation and the Gwangju Headquarters of NongHyup. They helped with farm work during the busy season by individually bagging each grape cluster to prevent pests and diseases and improve marketability.
Grape bags serve to increase the sugar content and coloration of grapes while also preventing pest and disease damage. Since bagging is done manually, it requires a lot of labor, but due to labor costs and difficulties in recruiting workers, it is a significant burden for farmers.
