Sacheon City Conducts Safety Inspections to Prevent Casualties During Summer Water Activities
Inspection of Safety Equipment Including Life Jackets, Lifebuoys, and Ropes
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province announced on the 20th that Vice Mayor Kim Sungkyu conducted a preliminary safety inspection of water recreation management areas in Sanam-myeon to achieve zero casualties during summer water activities.
This inspection was carried out at Ucheon Forest Water Playground, Neunghwa Forest Water Playground, and Yongso Forest Water Playground, all popular destinations in Sanam-myeon.
Kim Sungkyu, Deputy Mayor, is conducting an on-site inspection of water play management areas for summer 2024.
View original imageVice Mayor Kim also conducted a thorough inspection of all safety facilities, including life jackets, life rings, and ropes, in line with the government's intensive safety inspection initiative, a key task in Korea's national safety transformation.
Additionally, drones were utilized to inspect areas that are difficult to check with the naked eye.
Meanwhile, the city plans to assign 12 safety personnel to water recreation management areas and operate an emergency duty system throughout the water safety period from June to August.
Vice Mayor Kim Sungkyu emphasized, "It is important to prevent water-related accidents through on-site safety management," and urged, "Please make sure visitors are aware of and follow basic safety rules, such as wearing life jackets and refraining from swimming under the influence of alcohol, so that everyone can enjoy water activities safely."
