Inspection of Safety Measures for Monsoon and Heavy Rain Preparedness
On the 19th, Jo Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju, visited the site of the 'Jangjae Jangheung Natural Disaster Risk District Maintenance Project' to inspect safety measures in preparation for the rainy season and heavy downpours, and to listen to suggestions from local residents.

View original imageThe 'Jangjae Jangheung Natural Disaster Risk District Maintenance Project' aims to prevent frequent flooding damage in the low-lying areas from Jangjae-dong to Jangheung-ri, Jiphyeon-myeon, with a total project cost of 36.8 billion KRW. By December 2025, the plan includes expanding the drainage pump station, installing a detention reservoir, reconstructing Wolpyeong Bridge, and improving a 2.3km section of Seowonmot. Through this project, it is expected that recurring summer flood damage will be resolved and the environment around Seowonmot and Jangjaemot will be greatly improved.
During the inspection, Mayor Jo Kyu-il of Jinju stated, "The natural disaster risk district maintenance project is essential to protect the lives and property of residents. I hope that all efforts will be made to fully understand the damages and suggestions from residents and to ensure that no damage occurs even during extreme weather events." He also emphasized, "As this year is forecast to be hotter than average, please take thorough measures to prevent casualties and safety accidents among field workers due to the heat wave."
