Gwangyang Usan Cultural Park, Popular Hydrangea Spot
City Forest Blended with Hydrangeas and Various Facilities
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do introduced on the 19th a ‘Beautiful Urban Forest’ attraction where visitors can enjoy hydrangeas as the summer season begins in earnest.
Usan Culture Park in Gwangyang-eup has over 16,000 hydrangea plants planted along a 1km walking trail within the park, expected to be in full bloom by the end of June, creating a spectacular view.
Various colors of hydrangeas are blooming, capturing the attention of visitors.
Near the hydrangea complex, there is a cypress forest and a pine tree walking trail connected, and climbing the observatory while enjoying the hydrangeas offers a panoramic view of Gwangyang-eup, making it very popular among citizens and tourists.
Additionally, the park is equipped with various convenience facilities such as a forest experience center for young children, sports facilities, walking decks, and ground fountains, resulting in high satisfaction among family visitors.
In particular, the ‘Kkumtree Playground’ within the park has been designated as an excellent nationwide playground facility by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for three years starting this year, and it is popular as children can play freely.
Located near Gwangyang Central Library, local residents also find it perfect to spend leisurely time reading books in rest areas and under shaded trees throughout the park.
Usan Culture Park, created using eco-friendly construction methods, offers a variety of flowers and plants throughout the four seasons, including roses, Lycoris radiata, and wildflowers, maintaining steady popularity as a beautiful urban forest.
