Jungnang-gu Selected for Seoul AI CCTV-Based High-Speed Search System Project
Chosen in Seoul City Contest to Build AI CCTV High-Speed Search System for Missing Persons
Enables Rapid Tracking of Movement Paths to Secure Golden Time in Case of Disappearance
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) was selected on the 14th for the 'Seoul AI CCTV High-Speed Search System (Missing Persons) Construction' public project, securing a project budget of 200 million KRW.
The 'AI CCTV-based High-Speed Search System (Missing Persons)' is a system that uses CCTV artificial intelligence technology to quickly search and track the movement routes of socially vulnerable missing persons such as dementia patients, children, and those with developmental disabilities. By inputting the missing person's photo and physical description information, the system rapidly identifies the missing person's location, greatly aiding in securing the golden time.
The district plans to start the AI-based high-speed search system (missing persons) construction project in July using the budget secured through the public project selection and aims to complete it within the second half of the year.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "With the selection for this public project, the AI CCTV high-speed search system will be established, which is expected to make a significant contribution to preventing the disappearance of socially vulnerable individuals. We will continue to do our best to create a safe city, Jungnang-gu, where residents can live with peace of mind."
The district is currently operating and expanding multipurpose CCTVs up to 4,512 units to prevent various incidents and accidents and to respond quickly in case of crimes or disasters. Last year, 258 new security CCTVs were installed at 45 locations such as alleys, playgrounds, and hiking trails, and 292 outdated CCTVs were replaced.

In particular, AI crowd management cameras have been installed around Saja-jeong Station and Sangbong Station, where pedestrian traffic is heavy, to prevent safety accidents related to crowd density. The district is making every effort to build a dense safety network by expanding the intelligent selective control system and strengthening focused monitoring of abnormal signs.
