Daegu Urban Development Corporation Sponsors 'Saturday Study Room' for Children from Multicultural Families... Provides 2 Million Won Annually
Daegu Urban Development Corporation (President Jung Myungseop) announced on the 18th that it will support the "Saturday Study Room" program for children from multicultural families in the Daegu area.
The "Saturday Study Room" is a program operated by the Daegu branch of the Multicultural Comprehensive Welfare Center to ease the burden of private education for multicultural families and to help teenagers who face academic difficulties due to reasons such as school refusal or dropout. Ten mentors, who are students at Kyungpook National University and have voluntarily applied, provide study methods and personalized learning to ten mentees from multicultural families, as well as advice on daily life management to foster healthy emotional development.

View original imageSince 2012, Daegu Urban Development Corporation has supported the stable operation of the Saturday Study Room, encouraged university students who serve as mentors with a spirit of volunteerism, secured the educational rights of children from multicultural families, strengthened the local community, and fulfilled the corporation's social responsibility.
An official from Daegu Urban Development Corporation stated, "Classes are held once a week for two hours every Saturday, and Daegu Urban Development Corporation provides 2 million won annually to the ten Kyungpook National University student mentors for snacks, textbooks, and transportation expenses."
Jung Myungseop, President of Daegu Urban Development Corporation, said, "Our corporation is working with the local community to spread ESG management, and we hope that children from multicultural families will settle healthily as members of society. We will continue to actively engage in social contribution activities, such as discovering various projects to strengthen the local community."
