Yongin City Installs Sensor-Activated Lighting Building Number Plates at 5 Women’s Safe Return Routes
Rapid Reporting Possible in Emergency Situations
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that sensor-activated illuminated building number plates have been pilot-installed at five designated "Women’s Safe Return Paths" within the jurisdiction of the Yongin Dongbu Police Station.

View original imageThese solar-powered number plates automatically light up with LED illumination when pedestrians approach at night, helping ensure safe walking and making locations easy to identify. Each number plate is equipped with a QR code that, when scanned in an emergency, can quickly send the location to emergency services 119 and 112.

The city installed a total of 100 number plates along five Women’s Safe Return Paths in Gomae-dong, Dongbu-dong, Pogok-eup, Yangji-myeon, and Namsa-myeon. A city official stated, "We installed sensor-activated illuminated building number plates to ensure citizens can walk safely even at night," adding, "We plan to expand the installation areas with the goal of creating more safe return paths."
