Yeongdeok County Inspects Mountain Area Use and Soil and Rock Extraction Sites Ahead of Monsoon Season
Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok-gun will conduct a comprehensive inspection of mountain development sites, soil and rock extraction sites, and wind power plants from the 14th to the 28th of this month to prevent forest disasters such as falling rocks or retaining wall collapses caused by heavy rain and the monsoon season.
Yeongdeok County inspects mountain area exclusive zones and soil and stone excavation permits in preparation for the rainy season.

These facilities will be checked for compliance with permits and restoration requirements, confirmation of sedimentation basin drainage facilities, risk of soil runoff, and potential for slope collapse.
Yeongdeok-gun plans to review overall safety management and concerns about potential human casualties at the sites in addition to the inspection items. If on-site action or supplementary measures are needed, the county will immediately notify the business owners to implement corrective actions.
Kim Wondong, head of the Forestry Division, stated, "The purpose is to minimize safety accidents and human casualties by preemptively inspecting risk factors such as falling rocks or retaining wall collapses," adding, "We will do our utmost to prepare for forest disasters during the monsoon season through this inspection."
