Yongin City Expands Lanes from Hakgogae Tunnel to Yongin University Main Gate Intersection
Utilization of National and Public Land from Phase 1 to Phase 2
On the 13th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the single straight lane on the 200m section from Samga-dong Hakgogae Tunnel in Cheoin-gu to Yongin University Main Gate Intersection has been expanded to two lanes.
The local road No. 321, which connects Idong and Namsa-eup to the city hall direction, narrows from two lanes to one lane only in this section, causing severe bottlenecks during rush hours.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and safety, the city utilized nearby national and public land to expand the lanes to two in this section, carrying out construction from March to May. Traffic safety facilities such as anti-skid bumps and road marker posts were also installed in the area. The total project cost amounted to 90 million KRW.

A city official expressed expectations that "with the road widened to four lanes in both directions, the traffic flow from Idong and Namsa-eup towards the city hall will become smoother."
