Gyeongnam Information University Department of Digital Literary Arts Sweeps Grand, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prizes
National Dikasi Contest Held at the Ildu Seonbi Culture Festival in Hamyang
A newly established department at a university has swept a nationwide contest. Out of a total of 24 awardees, an impressive 21 came from this department.
On the 12th, Kyungnam College of Information & Technology (President Kim Taesang) announced that 21 students from the Department of Digital Literary Creation, who participated in the ‘Ildu Seonbi Culture Festival National Dikasi Contest’ held in Hamyang, Gyeongnam on the 8th, won the grand prize, gold, silver, and bronze awards, among others.

View original imageThis event, hosted by Hamyang County and the Ildu Memorial Association, was held at Hamyang Namgye Seowon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to commemorate the birth of Ildu Jeong Yeo-chang, who is praised as one of the five sages enshrined in the Confucian shrine during the Joseon Dynasty.
At this event, Baek Unok (first-year student, Department of Digital Literary Creation, age 58) won the grand prize with the work "Ildu's Illusion." Notably, out of the 24 total awardees, 21 were students from the Department of Digital Literary Creation at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, drawing attention.
The Department of Digital Literary Creation at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology was newly established this year to introduce adult learners to literary writing. In response to the era of social media, the department does not only focus on traditional text-based writing, but also trains digital writers equipped with planning and creative skills through education in photography and editing, calligraphy, and illustration.
