Donation to Centum General Hospital by Regular Patient... Satisfied with Medical Staff's Kindness and Treatment
Hemodialysis Patient Donates 3 Million Won to Centum General Hospital
"The Better Local Hospitals Do, the Better for Patients"
Centum Medical Foundation Centum General Hospital (Chairman Park Jongho, Director Park Namcheol) announced that it received a donation from a visiting patient for the first time since being upgraded to a general hospital in December last year.
According to Centum General Hospital, a male patient in his 70s, referred to as Patient A, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital, donated 3 million won as a token of his satisfaction and gratitude for the medical services. Centum General Hospital plans to use this donation to cover medical expenses for financially disadvantaged local patients.
Patient A, who is undergoing hemodialysis, visited Centum General Hospital for the first time after being transferred from another hospital. He said, "I used to be very afraid of receiving dialysis, but at Centum General Hospital, the medical staff always treat patients like family, and the punctuality of the treatment schedule is very satisfying."
He added, "The better the local hospital does, the better it will be for patients as well. I hope Centum General Hospital continues to grow, and I intend to keep supporting the hospital as much as I can."
Nephrology specialist Hwang Cheolgu, the attending physician, explained, "In Patient A's case, he started hemodialysis due to obstructive uropathy and severe hydronephrosis, which led to decreased kidney function. When he came to our hospital, we determined that he still had some residual kidney function, so we reduced his dialysis sessions from three times a week to twice a week and replaced his temporary hemodialysis catheter with a tunneled catheter for long-term use." He added that after completing a urinary catheter replacement in collaboration with the urology department, Patient A's condition has been improving.
A representative from Centum General Hospital said, "We deeply appreciate Patient A's warm support," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide the highest quality medical services and to promote the health and medical advancement of the local community."
Hemodialysis is a treatment that purifies the blood to remove waste products and excess fluids from the body when the kidneys are not functioning properly. It is mainly performed for patients with severely impaired kidney function, such as those with chronic or acute renal failure.
