Daejeon Daedeok-gu to Open Local Food Direct Store on the 3rd of Next Month

Agreement on Consignment Between Gyeryong Food Service Center and Seokbong Complex Cultural Center for 260㎡ Area

Daejeon Daedeok-gu announced on the 11th that it has signed a consignment agreement with Gyeryong Food Service Center Co., Ltd. for the operation of the Daedeok-gu Local Food Direct Store.

According to the agreement, Daedeok-gu will entrust Gyeryong Food Service Center Co., Ltd. with overall matters related to the facilities and operation of the direct store, and Gyeryong Food Service Center Co., Ltd. will strive to promote the sale of local agricultural products and revitalize local food.

In 2021, Daedeok-gu was selected in the ‘Urban-Rural Win-Win’ category of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ ‘Local Food Direct Store Creation Contest’ and established a 260㎡ direct store at Seokbong Complex Cultural Center.

Choi Chung-gyu, the district mayor, said, “We will take the lead in promoting the consumption of agricultural products produced locally and supplying high-quality agricultural products to residents to create a healthy dietary environment,” adding, “We will spare no administrative support to ensure the stable operation of the direct store.”

The Daedeok-gu Local Food Direct Store will officially begin operation on July 3, the opening day of the Seokbong Complex Cultural Center, and to commemorate the opening, a promotional event for the local representative agricultural product, ‘Daecheongho Peach,’ will be held for five days from July 3 to 7.
