Naver Decides to Double Office Parking Fees and Reduce Overseas Work Days
Union Demands Reconsideration from Management
Naver has decided to double the parking fee at its headquarters starting from the second half of this year and reduce the number of days employees can work overseas by half.
According to industry sources on the 11th, Naver announced internally that the daily maximum parking fee for employees will increase from 10,000 KRW to 20,000 KRW starting in the second half of the year. Additionally, based on the principle of working in the office twice a month implemented since last year, the maximum number of overseas working days per employee will be reduced from 4 weeks to 2 weeks annually.
Naver reportedly cited the rise in surrounding market prices as the reason for the parking fee increase. Furthermore, while reducing the number of overseas working days, the 'Connected Work' system?which allows employees to choose their preferred working style every six months between 'Remote Work 5 days a week (R type)' and 'Office Work 3 or more days a week (O type)'?will be extended for one year. Also, the number of employees eligible for 'Tokyo Workation,' which allows remote work from Japan, will increase from 5 to 15.

In response, the Naver labor union claims that this decision was made without prior sharing with the labor-management council or the union. However, the union has requested the company to discuss the overall restructuring of the Connected Work system again before its implementation in July.
