"Running Emergency Room" Remains Reliable This Year... Ulsan City, S-OIL, and Ulsan University Hospital Join Hands to Operate "Doctor Car"
S-OIL has donated 100 million won annually since 2019
Ulsan University Hospital operates 24/7, 365 days a year
S-OIL Co., Ltd. will deliver a sponsorship fund to Ulsan City for the operation of the 'Doctor-Car' at 3 p.m. on the 11th in the mayor's office at the main city hall building.
At the donation ceremony, Ulsan Mayor Kim Dookyum, S-OIL UCH (Ulsan Complex Head) Kim Bochan, and Ulsan University Hospital Director Jung Yoongki will attend and pledge cooperation for the operation of the Doctor-Car.
The Doctor-Car is called an emergency room on wheels, and unlike ordinary ambulances that are staffed only by nurses or paramedics, it is staffed by specialists in surgery or emergency medicine and nurses who directly treat and transport patients.
The Ulsan regional Doctor-Car was piloted by Ulsan University Hospital starting in September 2017, but was temporarily suspended in early 2019 due to a lack of operating funds. In May 2019, S-OIL donated 100 million KRW as a local community contribution project to support the continued operation of the Doctor-Car, allowing it to resume.
Since then, S-OIL has donated 100 million KRW every year, and Ulsan City has provided 20 million KRW, stabilizing the operational foundation of the Doctor-Car.
Over the past seven years, the Doctor-Car has operated 24/7, 365 days a year, to improve the survival rate of patients with severe trauma, achieving the result of saving a total of 165 precious lives.
