Offering Diverse Summer Programs Including Fully Remodeled Aquarium and Fishing Play Area
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee), often introduced as a ‘hot place’ for mothers caring for infants and toddlers because it is close to everyone by region, is opening a summer playground at its representative child care facility, ‘I-Mom Gangdong.’
With the weather already getting hot, Gangdong-gu has decorated the indoor playground at the I-Mom Gangdong Gildong branch (1486 Yangjae-daero, Jeongnam Building 6th floor) with a summer theme called ‘Underwater Kingdom,’ allowing children and mothers using the facility to feel as if they are playing coolly by the seaside.
In particular, the district has completely remodeled the aquarium at the I-Mom Gangdong Gildong branch so that children can observe live aquatic creatures up close.
Also, the playground entrance has been decorated with an underwater scene, and a photo zone transformed into a seaside caf? has been prepared to fully immerse visitors in the ocean atmosphere. Specialized programs will also be offered, including ▲Mermaid Air Bounce ▲Mini Fishing Pond Play ▲One-day Reading-linked Class with Teacher Hanuri ▲Sun-catcher Making, among various other activities ready to welcome visitors.
The summer theme ‘Underwater Kingdom’ will operate throughout June, and reservations must be made in advance every Tuesday at 9 a.m. on the I-Mom Gangdong website. The usage fee is 2,000 won per child (guardians free).

Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “We plan to provide a cool indoor space that can be used without external restrictions for families with infants and toddlers during the summer season, so we hope many will use it,” adding, “We will lead the establishment of child care infrastructure needed for children by operating various themes that can stimulate children’s imagination and creativity.”
