Hanwha Ocean announced on the 7th that it held a project completion meeting with stakeholders from participating institutions at the Defense Rapid Acquisition Technology Research Institute in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, on the 31st of last month, and was recognized for successfully completing the research project.
All-electric ships generate large-capacity power loads for propulsion due to high-speed maneuvering during operations. When using high-power electromagnetic weapons during high-speed propulsion, a sudden increase in power consumption can degrade propulsion performance or make timely use of electromagnetic weapons impossible. In the worst case, a blackout may occur within the ship.
The completed project is a core technology based on stable power control technology that can maximize operational capability and ship survivability, addressing the aforementioned issues.
