Dong-Eui University Selected for This Year's University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Program
111 Million Won in Grants... Training Fees, Competition Expenses, and Facility Improvements
Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) has been selected for the '2024 University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Project' organized by the Korea University Sports Federation and will receive a total of 111 million KRW in support.
Dong-Eui University received excellent evaluations in the four-stage assessment process, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations, on-site university inspections, and comprehensive evaluations of sports team operations, and will receive the fifth-largest amount of support among the 124 selected universities nationwide.
The support funds will be used for training expenses, competition participation fees, equipment costs, and improvements to the training environment for six sports teams: badminton, baseball, judo, soccer, taekwondo, and fencing.
Shin Jungtaek, head of the Sports Promotion Division, said, "Although the total amount of support for universities nationwide has been significantly reduced, our university received high evaluations thanks to remarkable achievements in both qualitative and quantitative assessments, as well as the efforts of our athletes and coaches," adding, "We will spare no effort to support our athletes so that they can fully focus on their training and demonstrate their best abilities in the optimal environment."

The University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Project is a program that provides operational funds to universities nationwide based on evaluations of their sports team management performance. Since 2015, it has been conducted with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. This year, a total of 6.1 billion KRW will be provided to 475 sports teams at 124 universities nationwide.
