Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) will hold a public lecture on June 26th at the basement level 1 education hall of Dapsimni Film Media Art Center under the theme "Understanding Depression in Children and Adolescents and How to Respond to Crisis Situations."
Hosted by the Korean Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and organized by the Dongdaemun-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, this lecture features Dr. Omiae from Kyung Hee University Hospital's Department of Psychiatry as the instructor. Drawing on extensive clinical experience, the lecture will cover ▲ characteristics of adolescence ▲ features of adolescent depression and suicide ▲ methods for responding to crisis situations.
The first lecture, titled "How Should We Understand Our Child Who Is Depressed?" will focus on understanding children and adolescents experiencing depression and learning how to communicate with them.
The second lecture, under the sub-theme "How Should We Help Our Child Who Self-Harms?" will teach proper ways to respond to self-harm and suicide attempts among children and adolescents.
