Ulleung County to Participate in This Year's Gyeongbuk Food Expo
Promoting Ulleungdo's Local Specialties
Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province will participate in the '2024 Gyeongbuk Food Expo', which will be held for three days from the 5th to the 7th at the Gyeongju HwaBaek Convention Center in Gyeongju.
This year's expo, under the theme 'Eat the Gyeongbuk, Eat the Future!', will feature a Food Business Hall, Food Tech Cooking Competition, and restaurant e-commerce (lectures on AI technology adoption, AI sales demonstrations, and marketing support). The event will showcase food exhibitions and side events tailored to changes in the food industry and consumption trends, with food manufacturing and processing companies introducing representative local foods.

The participating company, QBEM, will promote and sell salt and mineral enzymes made with deep sea water from Ulleungdo, while the county will promote local specialties such as pickled Myungi, pumpkin caramel, pumpkin taffy, and pumpkin Makgeolli, highlighting the excellence and diversity of Ulleung foods to a wider audience.
In particular, simple events will be held for expo visitors, offering Ulleungdo specialties and providing enjoyable experiences.
County Governor Nam Hankwon said, "This expo is an opportunity to promote excellent local foods made with Ulleungdo's agricultural and specialty products," adding, "I hope this will serve as a reference for the diversity of the food industry and future development plans for Ulleungdo's local foods."
