Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province attracted a large number of companies to its first-ever corporate investment attraction briefing session. This is analyzed as a result of companies focusing on advanced industries such as semiconductors, future cars, and bio, as well as abundant infrastructure and accessibility.

View original imageHwaseong City announced on the 5th that about 250 people, including more than 110 domestic and international companies such as Daemyung ENG and Zeus, which expressed prior investment intentions, and key institutional officials from Gyeonggi Province, KOTRA, and Korea Water Resources Corporation, attended the corporate investment attraction briefing held at EL Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
This briefing session is part of Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun's pledge to attract 20 trillion won in investment during his term after taking office. At the briefing, Mayor Jeong explained the city's strategic industry development plans for semiconductors, future cars, and bio, and signed win-win cooperation agreements for investment attraction with seven companies and institutions.
Mayor Jeong introduced the regional investment attraction strategies of Hwaseong City, the central hub of the Gyeongbu line advanced semiconductor mega cluster connecting Suwon-Hwaseong-Yongin-Pyeongtaek-Cheonan; the West Coast K-Future Car Valley connecting Gwangmyeong-Hwaseong-Pyeongtaek-Gwangju; and the K-Bio Belt connecting Incheon Songdo-Siheung-Hwaseong.
Along with this, he emphasized the city's solid infrastructure and growth potential, as well as its excellent location as a transportation hub in southern Gyeonggi, highlighting ▲the launch of the fifth special city with a population of one million ▲the youngest city ▲the highest number of manufacturing companies nationwide ▲the highest Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) nationwide ▲and ranking first nationwide for seven consecutive years in local government competitiveness index.

At the briefing, information was provided on the investment incentive system for domestic and foreign investment companies established through the ordinance amendment in January, and explanations of the projects by the developers of industrial complexes scheduled for sale in the second half of the year, including ▲Songsan Green City National Industrial Complex ▲Hwaseong Woojeong National Industrial Complex ▲H-Techno Valley General Industrial Complex, along with sales consultations through individual booths for each complex.

Mayor Jeong said, "This investment attraction briefing was a great opportunity to promote Hwaseong City's excellence and its status as 'a better city for business' nationwide," adding, "We will do our utmost to build a Technopolis City as an advanced industrial city like Silicon Valley in the United States and to achieve 20 trillion won in investment attraction during my term."
