KOSPI Declines Intraday Due to Net Selling by Foreigners and Institutions
The KOSPI index is showing a decline during the session, pressured by selling from foreigners and institutions.
As of 10:14 AM on the 4th, the KOSPI index is trading at 2666.76, down 0.59% from the previous day.
By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net sellers with 214.9 billion KRW and 141.8 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net buyers with 339 billion KRW. In the futures market, institutions and individuals are net buyers with 567.1 billion KRW and 108.9 billion KRW respectively, whereas foreigners are net sellers with 660.8 billion KRW.
By sector, most industries are in decline. The insurance sector is down 2.26%, transportation equipment -2.06%, construction -1.84%, machinery -1.9%, finance -1.66%, food and beverages -1.65%, transportation and warehousing -1.3%, telecommunications -1.19%, and distribution -1.2%. In contrast, the electric and gas utilities sector is up 2.27%, pharmaceuticals 1.47%, and non-metallic minerals 0.59%, showing strength.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, performance is mixed. Samsung Electronics is down 0.26%, and SK Hynix remains slightly down by 0.05%. Hyundai Motor is down 2.45%, Kia -1.91%, and KB Financial -1.89%. On the other hand, LG Energy Solution is up 1.2%, Samsung Biologics 0.4%, Celltrion 3.46%, POSCO Holdings 0.53%, and NAVER 0.35%, showing gains.
The KOSDAQ index is showing strength. At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 849.4, up 0.57% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net buyers with 31.1 billion KRW and 35.9 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net sellers with 60.1 billion KRW.
Most of the top market capitalization stocks are strong. EcoPro BM and EcoPro are up 2.77% and 4.72% respectively, Alteogen 7.54%, Enchem 0.17%, Celltrion Pharm 2.55%, Rainbow Robotics 1.56%, and Classys 0.93%. Meanwhile, HLB is down 2.44%, Rino Industrial -0.74%, and HPSP -1.69%.
