Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Holds Small Regular Meeting on Pyeonghwanuri-gil in Yeoncheon

View original imageThe Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held a small regular meeting for the Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil trail in Yeoncheon.
On the 1st, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 3rd that it held the "2024 Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Small Regular Meeting" in Yeoncheon, with about 120 participants including members of the "Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Daum Cafe" and walking enthusiasts.
The first small regular meeting took place on Course 12 of Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil, the "Tongil Ieum-gil" course, which is an 11 km walk starting from the Gunam Flood Control Reservoir, the first single-purpose flood control dam in Korea, and ending at Sinmang-ri Station on the Gyeongwon Line in Sinmang-ri, a settlement established in 1954 by the U.S. military for war refugees.
After a 5 km trek, participants had lunch at the "Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil Eoullim Center," which opened in August last year, followed by enjoying performances by local artists supported by Gyeonggi Province and a raffle event, creating happy memories.
The small regular meetings for Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil, hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, will be held a total of eight times until October, starting with this event.
A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization said, "Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil is a walking trail with various sights created by the unique nature and history of the DMZ border area," adding, "The regular meetings held in 2024 will be a great opportunity to create beautiful memories on Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil."

Meanwhile, the Pyeonghwa Nuri walking trail currently consists of 12 courses totaling 184 km and was opened by Gyeonggi Province on May 8, 2010, to promote peace awareness and regional revitalization.
