Suspected of Accepting Bribes Around 1 Million Won
A police officer affiliated with the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul has been confirmed to be under police investigation on charges of accepting bribes from a suspect in a case.
On the 2nd, the Criminal Mobile Unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency announced that they conducted a search and seizure of the office of Sergeant A, affiliated with the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul, on the 22nd of last month. Sergeant A is suspected of accepting a bribe of about 1 million won from Mr. B, a money laundering agent under investigation for an illegal leading room fraud case.
During the investigation of the illegal leading room case, the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency detected circumstances indicating that Sergeant A received money from Mr. B. Three money laundering agents, including Mr. B, were arrested and sent to prosecution in April.
