'Dancing Queen' ABBA Receives Knighthood in Sweden
Members of the Swedish pop group ABBA, familiar to us with the song "Dancing Queen," have been knighted.
On the 31st (local time), according to foreign media including the British daily The Guardian, ABBA members Agnetha F?ltskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Bj?rn Ulvaeus, and Benny Andersson were knighted by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden in Stockholm.
They received the Royal Order of Vasa for their contributions to Swedish and international music. It is the first time in about 50 years that Sweden has awarded such an honor to its citizens.

Formed in 1972, ABBA began gaining popularity two years later by winning the Eurovision Song Contest, Europe's largest pop music festival. They then reached the top of the world charts with songs like "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen." They have sold over 400 million singles and albums combined. After halting activities in 1982, they made a comeback in 2021 with a new album, ABBA Voyage.
