Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Recruit Target Companies from the 3rd to the 28th
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will recruit target companies from the 3rd to the 28th for designation as a '2024 Talent Development-Oriented Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)'.
A Talent Development-Oriented SME refers to a company that has established a virtuous cycle system by exemplary nurturing of talent through education and training, reinvesting the resulting business performance into talent, thereby promoting the inflow of outstanding talent. Since its introduction in 2014 to support SMEs facing labor shortages, a total of 2,489 companies have been designated up to last year.
Companies wishing to be designated as Talent Development-Oriented SMEs can apply through the Comprehensive Management System for SME Workforce Support Projects. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will conduct document and on-site evaluations on applicants regarding profit-generating ability, education and training, human resource development and management, and designate about 350 companies after expert review.
Selected companies will receive preferential treatment in Ministry of SMEs and Startups support projects such as technology development and export, including additional points when applying for new military service designated companies, and can receive recruitment support through a dedicated hiring section within the online employment platform. The validity period is three years.

Kim Woo-jung, Director of Regional Enterprise Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “This system contributes to resolving job mismatches by providing excellent SMEs’ recruitment information to job seekers such as youth amid rapid demographic changes like low birthrate and aging, and supplying outstanding talent to companies facing labor shortages. We are exploring ways to enhance the effectiveness of the system, including cooperation between related ministries for linking support projects.”
