Two Workers Suffer Burns in Fire, Undergoing Treatment
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) is investigating the cause of a fire at a shipyard in Mokpo through a joint inspection.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 31st, a report was received about a fire that occurred at a shipyard located in Yeonsan-dong, Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do, at around 4:50 PM on the 30th.

The fire, which broke out during ship dismantling work, was extinguished by the workers themselves at the time of dispatch, but 2 out of 3 workers (a Korean in his 40s and a Chinese in his 70s) suffered burns.
One person was diagnosed with severe burns over the entire body and was transferred to a specialized burn hospital in Seoul, while another is receiving treatment at a large hospital in Mokpo. Both are reported to be in stable condition.

Mokpo Maritime Police plan to secure CCTV footage and investigate the detailed circumstances of the fire based on witness statements that an explosion occurred while cutting the lower steel plate using an oxygen welding machine.
