Gijang-gun, Busan announced on the 29th that the outdoor water playground in Witgol Park, Jeonggwan-eup, will open starting June 1 to provide residents with a cool and pleasant place to relax during the hot summer months.
The outdoor water playground in Witgol Park covers an area of approximately 1,170 square meters and features water play facilities such as two waterslides, two water drops, and eight budle fountains, as well as convenience facilities including four shower booths, two changing rooms, a first aid room, and restrooms. It is recognized as a popular summer destination for local children, residents, and tourists alike.
This year, the facility will be open from June 1 until the end of August, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed every Monday and on rainy days for facility maintenance and to prevent safety accidents. Additionally, there will be a 15-minute break at the end of every hour for environmental cleaning and water quality management.
The county is taking thorough measures to prevent accidents by assigning safety personnel and nurses. In particular, this year, the facility has been upgraded with the replacement of old pavement and other refurbishments to ensure residents can enjoy the water playground in greater comfort.
County Governor Jeong Jongbok instructed, "As an early heatwave is expected this year, we will ensure thorough facility safety management and water quality control so that residents can use the water playground safely and comfortably."
Witgol Park in Jeonggwan is establishing itself as a space that offers relaxation and healing to residents and tourists all year round, with attractions such as the summer water playground, a rose garden with colorful blooms from mid-May to October, and a winter light street.
