This briefing was organized to activate the container route between Pyeongtaek and Vietnam and to expand cargo volume in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam ranks second among Pyeongtaek Port's trading countries, and last year, Vietnam's container cargo volume accounted for 47,450 TEU, which is 5.8% of the total container cargo volume at Pyeongtaek Port (820,289 TEU). This represents an increase of about 21.5% compared to the previous year. The trade volume is rapidly increasing compared to other trading countries.
The reason behind the increase in trade volume is that out of the 16 container routes at Pyeongtaek Port, 4 routes operate to and from Vietnam.
Kim Seok-gu, President of the Pyeongtaek Port Authority, stated, "Vietnam is an essential key country for the development of Pyeongtaek Port," and added, "We hope this Vietnam port sales event will be a good opportunity to revitalize trade between the two countries."
