A senior official from the Presidential Office told reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the afternoon of the 22nd, "This morning, we held a High-Level Party-Government Policy Council meeting to enhance policy consultations between the party and the government," adding, "While the High-Level Party-Government Council held every Sunday discusses broad issues including overall state affairs, the High-Level Party-Government Policy Council held today is a consultative body where more concrete discussions on policy aspects take place between the party and the government."
The official said, "Going forward, the High-Level Party-Government Policy Council, regularly held every week, will include the Chairperson of the Party Policy Committee, the Director of the Presidential Office Policy Office, the Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and relevant vice ministers depending on the issue," and added, "We will continue close communication with the party focusing on policies closely related to stabilizing people’s livelihoods and public life."
He also explained, "In addition, working-level party-government consultations involving officials from each ministry and the party will continue to be held for detailed policy preparation."
Furthermore, he said, "In addition to strengthening communication with the party, we plan to reinforce processes within each ministry and the Presidential Office to preemptively review policy-related matters," adding, "Each secretary’s office will thoroughly check the practical suitability of policies, and the Policy Tea Time, chaired by the Director of the Policy Office and attended by related senior secretaries, will strengthen the inspection and management of major policy issues to ensure that public opinions are properly reflected in policy implementation."
A Presidential Office official emphasized, "The Office for Government Policy Coordination will promptly take measures to strengthen such inspection and management within each ministry," and added, "We will strive to enhance communication centered on the party and policies through the regularized High-Level Party-Government Policy Council to faithfully reflect public opinion."
However, when asked about the agenda of the High-Level Party-Government Policy Council held that morning, the official said, "Specific policy matters have not been finalized and are still in the discussion stage, and may change as they move toward agreement, so it is difficult to confirm specific issues and details," adding, "Policies to open an era for the working class and middle class, as well as policies to strengthen industrial competitiveness, were discussed together."
