Jangseong-gun Discusses Plans for Successful Hosting of 2025 Jeonnam Sports Festival

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do recently held a regular meeting of the Policy Advisory Committee and engaged in in-depth discussions for the successful hosting of the 2025 Jeonnam Sports Festival.

According to the county on the 21st, the Policy Advisory Committee, composed of 25 members including experts from various fields and representatives of residents, plays a role in providing professional policy opinions to the 8th term Jangseong-gun administration and suggesting diverse directions.

At the meeting, advisory committee members, Jangseong-gun Mayor Kim Han-jong, the Director of the Construction Industry Bureau, the Planning Office Chief, the Director of the Sports Business Office, and team leaders from relevant departments attended and exchanged various opinions to ensure the smooth hosting of the 2025 Jeonnam and Disabled Sports Festival.

Jangseong-gun, the gateway to Jeonnam and the center of Honam, is a key transportation hub through which the KTX and Honam Expressway pass.

In May of last year, Jangseong succeeded for the first time in attracting the two major sports festivals in 2025, securing an important opportunity to promote sports development, unity among residents, and pride.

The Jeonnam Sports Festival and the Disabled Sports Festival are scheduled to be held consecutively in April and May next year, and the Jeollanam-do Sports for All Festival will be held in 2026.

The county is focusing administrative efforts on systematically inspecting and supplementing deficiencies in various fields such as accommodation, food, and transportation to ensure a successful sports festival.

Mayor Kim Han-jong said, “We will closely review the opinions presented at the Policy Advisory Committee meeting with the relevant departments to lay the foundation for the success of the sports festival,” and added, “We will make every preparation so that the 2025 Jeonnam Sports Festival, which was successfully attracted by the wishes of 50,000 residents, can be grandly held as a venue for unity among Jeonnam residents.”
