Briefing on Preparations for Opening Held at Sacheon City Hall Main Conference Room
After Inspecting the Exterior of the Space Aviation Agency Staff Residence, a Tour of the Temporary Office Interior
Park Dongsik, the Mayor of Sacheon, presented the future vision of the Korea Aerospace Administration at the 'Media Briefing on the Opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration' held in the main conference room of Sacheon City Hall on the 20th.
On this day, Mayor Park emphasized, "The opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration is just around the corner," and added, "The establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration is the first step for our country to become a global powerhouse in space."

View original imageMayor Park also stated, "Together with Gyeongnam Province, we are preparing to build an aerospace complex city to serve as the aerospace capital of Korea," and pledged, "We will provide our utmost support for the successful launch of the Korea Aerospace Administration."
In particular, Mayor Park highlighted, "We will boldly implement support policies for the relocating staff of the Korea Aerospace Administration, including drastically improving residential conditions," and stressed, "With the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration, Korea will rise as a leading nation in aerospace."
More than 100 reporters, including those covering the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Sacheon City, attended the briefing to report on the preparations for the opening of the temporary headquarters of the Korea Aerospace Administration.
The event proceeded in the following order: greetings from Lee Jaehyung, Head of the Korea Aerospace Administration Establishment Promotion Team, and Mayor Park Dongsik of Sacheon, an update on the progress of the headquarters preparations, an explanation of support for residential conditions, and a Q&A session.
Additionally, there was an on-site tour of the official residences and surrounding infrastructure where the staff of the Korea Aerospace Administration will reside, as well as an internal tour of the temporary headquarters currently under renovation.
In particular, the media briefing concluded with heightened expectations as participants directly observed the preparation status for the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration and the establishment of the office environment, while listening to on-site briefings.
The Korea Aerospace Administration, known as the "Korean NASA," will officially open in Sacheon, Gyeongnam on the 27th, following the passage of the special law for its establishment by the National Assembly on January 9th.
Accordingly, the city plans to implement 29 policies to ensure the stable settlement of relocating staff and their families, including group move-in to apartment complexes, housing loan interest support for relocating staff, monthly rent and child care subsidies, and Sacheon Love Card support.
