Eunpyeong-gu Supports Safety Supplies for Visitors at Donghaeng Center
Electronic Whistles and Badge Recorders Provided to Welfare Officers at Dong Resident Centers
Protecting Social Welfare Workers from Unusual Civil Complaints
Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has distributed safety items, including ‘electronic whistles’ and ‘official ID badge recorders,’ to community service centers to protect social welfare workers from unusual civil complaints.
This support for safety items for visiting personnel was promoted to protect social welfare workers due to the increase in discovering and counseling welfare blind spots and the higher likelihood of exposure to dangerous situations caused by unusual civil complaints.
Eunpyeong-gu established the ‘Visiting Personnel Safety Support Plan’ in April. The plan includes ▲compliance with safety rules ▲strengthening the safety management foundation at the organizational level by designating a safety management officer, supporting visiting personnel accompaniment, and planning visiting safety education ▲supporting vaccinations for infectious disease prevention ▲providing safety items to protect personnel.
The newly provided ‘electronic whistle’ operates by pressing a button with the hand to emit a powerful sound. It can temporarily deter threatening behavior by alerting those nearby for help. The ‘official ID badge recorder’ allows easy recording by sliding a button. It is used as a defensive measure against verbal abuse and to secure evidence afterward.
