Russian President Vladimir Putin, who visited China, reportedly praised the Beijing duck roast he was served in Beijing on the 16th.
On the 17th, the Chinese Global Times online edition, Huanqiu.com, cited Russian state media RIA Novosti and reported this news.
On the second day of his visit to China, the 17th, President Putin visited Harbin Institute of Technology and during an exchange event with students, when asked which Chinese food he liked the most, he reportedly said, "I tasted Beijing duck yesterday, and it was really delicious."
He confessed, "There were two pieces, and I was going to eat only one, but I couldn't resist and ate the second piece," which drew laughter and applause from the audience.

TASS news agency reported that the day before, at the state banquet hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Putin was served Beijing duck, duck soup with daqingyi (clams), steamed sea cucumber with onions, vegetables with abalone sauce, shrimp porridge with sea bass, and more. Mung bean cake, vanilla mousse, fruits, and ice cream were also provided, and beverages included coffee, tea, and traditional Chinese liquors such as high-proof Maotai.

President Putin made a two-day state visit to China on the 16th and 17th, and after holding talks with President Xi in Beijing the previous day, he visited Harbin in Heilongjiang Province on this day.
