View original imageKang Min-ha, a member of the Seoul Seodaemun District Council (People Power Party, Hongje 1-dong and 2-dong), announced on the 17th that the regulations on admission fees for the Seodaemun Prison History Hall and the Seodaemun Natural History Museum have been newly revised to expand the scope of admission fee exemptions.
According to the district council, the "Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of Seodaemun Prison History Hall" and the "Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of Seodaemun Natural History Museum," proposed by Councilor Kang, were finally approved through the 298th Seodaemun District Council extraordinary session.
Accordingly, admission to the Seodaemun Prison History Hall is exempted for △ Seodaemun-gu neighborhood leaders (tong/banjang) △ holders of the Large Family Happiness Card among Seodaemun-gu residents and their children △ residents visiting on Seodaemun-gu Residents' Day (every November 3rd) △ North Korean defectors △ people visiting within one month after participating in elections △ accredited journalists, among others.
In addition, items eligible for free admission during commemorative events were clarified, and a basis for partnership discounts was newly established. Furthermore, a non-refundable clause was revised to allow refunds of admission fees, and regulations were set to enable nighttime openings if necessary.
For the Seodaemun Natural History Museum, △ a 20% discount on admission fees is provided to visitors on the last Wednesday of every month, designated as Culture Day △ admission is free for accredited journalists △ partnership discount regulations were newly established △ the period for admission fee exemption for voters was revised from three months to one month after the election day.
