Busan Office of Education Launches 'Mutual Respect' Campaign Between Teachers and Students
Various Events Planned to Create a Happy School for Teachers and Students
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is launching an initiative to spread a culture of mutual respect between teachers and students in order to boost teachers' morale and pride and restore trust in school education.
In celebration of the 43rd Teacher's Day, the Busan Office of Education will carry out a "Mutual Respect Between Teachers and Students Movement" to create a school culture where both teachers and students are happy together.
To this end, the office has prepared a variety of events, including: ▲a campaign to spread a culture of mutual respect between teachers and students ▲sending commemorative letters and messages for Teacher's Day ▲operating the "Let's Be Together, Teacher" teacher-student club ▲operating the "Let's Compliment" section, and more.
The "Mutual Respect Between Teachers and Students Culture Expansion Campaign" will be run under the theme of "A School Where Teachers and Students Dream Together." Promotional videos will be produced, capturing the will to nurture dreams with students and the happiness shared by teachers and students.
The "Sending Commemorative Letters and Messages for Teacher's Day" will include sending a letter from Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo, sending texts, making phone calls, and writing letters of gratitude and appreciation expressing respect and mutual regard for teachers. In addition, a video promoting respect for teachers will be produced and uploaded to the office's SNS channels and website.
The "Let's Be Together, Teacher" teacher-student club, which was selected last April, will involve 100 teams from elementary, middle, and high schools in various activities such as student experience-based clubs and career exploration activities in collaboration with teachers until November.
The "Let's Compliment" section will be operated year-round on the websites of the education (support) office and each school, allowing people to post positive stories or points of pride about teachers.
In addition, the Busan Office of Education plans to select and award the "Teacher of the Year" recipient in September and the winners of the "Busan Education Award" and the "Republic of Korea Teacher Award" in December.
