The "50-Year History of Sahakyeongeum," which chronicles half a century of Sahakyeongeum, has been published. The Private School Teachers' Pension Service (Sahakyeongeum) announced on the 16th that it has published the "50-Year History of Sahakyeongeum" to commemorate its 50th anniversary on January 11, 2024.
The 50-Year History of Sahakyeongeum captures the dynamic development process over the past half-century and, at a turning point looking toward the next 100 years, reflects both the past and future as a sustainable public pension institution. By publishing a total of three volumes including the "General History," "Sectoral Histories," and "Story History," it organizes the 50-year journey of the Service. It has also been produced as an e-book. Related materials can be downloaded from the Sahakyeongeum 50th Anniversary website (www.tp50.or.kr).
The "General History" compiles the history and development of Sahakyeongeum in an official narrative format to provide an overview of the Service’s history at a glance. The "Sectoral Histories" include detailed changes, current status, and future outlooks of each sector. The "Story History" consists of a chronological overview and 50 selected "TP Stories" that highlight major events in the Service’s history. Additionally, to commemorate the 50th anniversary, a new Sahakyeongeum character was created, and a mobile webtoon utilizing this character was also produced.
According to a Sahakyeongeum official, the production direction of the "50-Year History of Sahakyeongeum" involved direct and indirect participation of teachers and employees in the writing process. In line with the production purpose, activities such as data collection from the planning stage, a photo contest for the 50-year history, collection of related episodes, and interviews with stakeholders were conducted.
