KT Commercializes Voice Authentication for National Health Insurance Service... First Among Public Institutions
‘Deep Voice’ Fraud Detection Technology Applied... Security Enhanced
On the 16th, KT announced that it has provided the first-ever artificial intelligence (AI) 'voice authentication' service to the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) customer center among public institutions.
KT's voice authentication is an AI solution that allows natural identity verification through voice during consultations via call centers or voice bots. Unlike the traditional method where personal information is verified by agents asking questions verbally, this system enables authentication by utilizing unique voice characteristics of each individual.
When customers agree to enroll in voice authentication and proceed with simple verification at the agent's suggestion, phonation information from the customer's free speech is encrypted, stored, and registered. Subsequently, when the customer calls the center, if the voice matches the previously registered information, the consultation can proceed quickly and smoothly.
Since October last year, KT and NHIS have been promoting the AI Contact Center (AICC) project, preparing for the commercialization of consultation support using speech-to-text (STT) technology and voice authentication, and officially applied the service on the 14th.
KT also enhanced security by applying technology that can detect 'deep voice'?a voice synthesis (TTS) and tampering technology used to impersonate others. To respond to the rapidly advancing deep voice technology, KT plans to continuously improve and sophisticate the quality of voice authentication.
