Suwon City Cracks Down on Local Currency Fraud... Until May 31
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive crackdown on the fraudulent circulation of the local currency, Suwon Pay, until the 31st of this month.
The crackdown targets cases such as ▲usage in restricted franchise industries like gambling ▲refusal to accept local currency payments or demanding additional amounts ▲receiving local currency without selling goods or providing services ▲and other cases deemed necessary for enforcement.
Suwon City will carry out investigations based on preliminary analysis data, issuing guidance or administrative measures for minor violations, and referring serious fraudulent circulation cases to the police for investigation.

A Suwon city official stated, "We will establish a sound circulation order of Suwon Pay to revitalize small businesses and the local economy," and added, "We ask for the active cooperation of citizens."
