President Yoon Suk-yeol emphasized on the 10th that he will do his utmost to control grocery prices while meeting with traditional market merchants and citizens.
On the same day, President Yoon visited Yeongcheon Market near Independence Gate in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to check the status of grocery prices. Yeongcheon Market is a representative alley-type traditional market frequently used by residents as it is located near residential areas.
President Yoon visited stores selling vegetables and fruits, communicating with market merchants and checking price trends.
He also listened to citizens who came shopping about their opinions on prices.
This was President Yoon's first visit to a livelihood site since the April 10 general election.
President Yoon emphasized, "The government will mobilize all its capabilities to control grocery prices by employing every possible means so that ordinary people can feel the effects."
On the same day, President Yoon also visited Cheonggyecheon and met office workers out for a walk.
