Chungnam Firefighter Saves Cardiac Arrest Patient Who Collapsed in Vietnam with CPR
Gongju Fire Station's Fire Sergeant Lee Byung-jun Recognized for Good Deed During Vacation
A firefighter from Chungnam who was traveling in Vietnam was later revealed to have rescued a cardiac arrest patient who lost consciousness and collapsed.
On the 23rd of last month, Firefighter Lee Byung-jun of Gongju Fire Station, who was visiting a resort in Vietnam with his family, found a Korean woman in her 30s who had lost consciousness and collapsed at the swimming pool and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
After three minutes of CPR, Ms. A regained consciousness. Firefighter Lee urged, "Since she recovered from cardiac arrest, she must receive medical treatment at a hospital," before leaving the scene.
The firefighter's good deed became known after Ms. A's family posted a message on a travel review cafe and, after some inquiries, expressed their gratitude to Gongju Fire Station.
