Seongbuk-gu to Promote Environment and Integrity Awareness Together with Integrity Plogging After Residents' Sports Festival on the 7th
Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) conducted a 'Cleanliness Plogging' event to promote a culture of integrity.
The event, held on the 7th after the closing ceremony of the 'Seongbuk Residents' Day Commemoration and Residents' Sports Competition,' was attended by about 3,000 people including Mayor Lee Seung-ro, public officials of the district, sports competition participants, and local residents.
'Plogging' is an environmental protection activity that involves picking up trash while exercising. After the competition, participants cleaned up the surroundings together and picked up trash, reflecting on the value of a clean environment and an honest public service culture.
A district official said, "This event was organized to allow people to physically experience a cleaner environment through plogging activities and to reflect on the value of integrity necessary to create a corruption-free Seongbuk-gu."
A resident who participated in the event shared, "It was rewarding to enjoy sports while keeping our neighborhood clean and contributing to making Seongbuk-gu an honest district."

Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk-gu said, "This Cleanliness Plogging is an important opportunity for residents and public officials to reflect on and build a culture of integrity beyond simple environmental cleanup activities," adding, "We will continue efforts to make Seongbuk-gu a more trusted area through ongoing integrity campaigns and education."
