Seminar Hub announced that it will hold a seminar titled "Measures to Respond to the Power Market Following the Enforcement of the Distributed Energy Act and the Expansion of Renewable Energy" on June 11 at the Sapphire Hall on the 2nd floor of the Federation of Korean Industries Building in Yeouido, Seoul.
In the morning session, presentations will cover ▲Background and key contents of the Distributed Energy Activation Special Act (Distributed Energy Act) (Korea Energy Agency) ▲Measures to strengthen price functions such as regional price systems and price bidding systems in the power market (GS EPS) ▲Comprehensive measures for distribution network to activate distributed energy (Korea Electric Power Corporation) ▲Demonstration cases and expansion plans for ESS/VPP following the enforcement of the Distributed Energy Act (Korea Power Exchange).
In the afternoon session, presentations will include ▲Status of Jeju Island power market pilot project (LG Energy Solution Able) ▲Oil/LNG price outlook and energy market impact analysis (Samchully) ▲Development of distributed energy operation management and real-time power generation bidding system and business strategy (GridWiz) ▲Evaluation of the direct PPA system operation.
A representative from Seminar Hub said, "With the enforcement of the Distributed Energy Act, there will be many changes such as the transition to a future-type regional energy system and the creation of new energy industries," adding, "We hope this seminar will help prepare measures to respond to the Distributed Energy Act, which will be enforced in June, and the changing power market." Meanwhile, the Distributed Energy Act, which will be enforced from June 14, includes provisions for a power system impact assessment system for regional distribution of large-scale power demand, a distributed energy specialized area system allowing direct power trading, a virtual power plant (VPP) system, assigning stable distribution network management roles to distribution operators, and the basis for implementing regional electricity tariff systems.
