Korea Zinc Holds 2nd Sustainability Management Committee This Year to Advance ESG
Preparation for the Publication of the Fourth June Sustainability Management Report
Korea Zinc announced on the 7th that it held the 2nd Sustainable Management Committee meeting for 2024.
At the meeting held on the 3rd, Korea Zinc discussed agenda items including ▲key issues related to the publication of the 2024 Sustainable Management Report ▲energy saving and statutory energy diagnosis and activities ▲operation of the safety and health management system and safety culture activities ▲planning and establishment of the environmental management system.
Korea Zinc plans to publish its fourth Sustainable Management Report at the end of next month. The Sustainable Management Committee will review the current status and direction based on five key issues: carbon footprint calculation, carbon neutrality roadmap, supply chain management, responsible minerals reporting, and domestic and international ESG evaluation response. Starting this year, the report will be published in a web version to enhance accessibility for stakeholders and users.

During the meeting, the 2023 ESG evaluation results and social contribution activity plans were also discussed, and the committee shared responses to sustainability standards and items based on domestic and international ESG evaluation results.

Jung Moo-kyung, Chairperson of the Sustainable Management Committee, said, "Going forward, Korea Zinc plans to systematically review ESG management based on major domestic and international ESG evaluation results and focus on responding to strengthening evaluation standards and items." He added, "As a corporate citizen, Korea Zinc will advance sustainable management through management practices that create social value."
