Gangnam-gu Seeks Private Organizations to Operate Specialized Programs at Children's Hall
Opening in Yeoksam-dong at the end of July, operating specialized programs difficult to experience at home, daycare, and school to support child development
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is recruiting a private consignment institution to operate the Gangnam Children's Center, which is scheduled to open at the end of July, until May 20.
The Gangnam Children's Center is a facility exclusively for children, located in a building constructed on the public contribution site of A2BL at 653-6 Yeoksam-dong. It has a total floor area of 2,380㎡, spanning from basement level 2 to the 6th floor, and consists of ▲ basement level 2 parking lot (21 spaces) ▲ basement level 1 sports playroom ▲ 1st floor lobby and nursing room ▲ 2nd floor Seoul-style kids cafe ▲ 3rd to 4th floor experience program rooms and book cafe ▲ 5th floor children's coding room ▲ 6th floor multipurpose room for performances and events.
The district has benchmarked various utilization plans for the newly established children-only facility in Gangnam and gathered opinions from experts and residents. In response to requests from many parents and childcare workers for a facility where programs that are difficult to operate due to spatial constraints at home, daycare centers, or schools can be experienced, the experience program rooms have been expanded. The district plans to put extra effort into selecting a consignment company to operate Gangnam-type specialized programs that support the integrated development of children in this space.
Applicants must be nonprofit corporations, social welfare corporations, or universities with experience operating children's experience facilities or similar facilities (exhibition, performance, culture, education). The announcement period is from April 22 to May 20, and applications will be accepted from May 13 to 20. After review by the Gangnam-gu Private Consignment Review Committee, the final selection will be made on June 3. Detailed information about the recruitment can be found in the announcement section on the district office website. Once a private consignment institution is selected, the district plans to immediately proceed with preparations for the opening and begin full-scale operations in the second half of this year.
