Nearby in Seokgok-ri is the Eulmi Uibyeong Cemetery. It honors the militia who rose up in this area during the late Joseon period following the assassination of Empress Myeongseong and the implementation of the short hair decree. The site includes a memorial monument, cemetery, and a monument with recorded sayings. From a distance, the memorial appears like an ordinary grave with only a base stone and a stele. On the back of the stele, which is topped with a roof stone engraved with two dragons in relief, is inscribed the organizational genealogy of the militia at that time. The Eulmi Uibyeong served as a catalyst for patriotic movements that took place across the country, leading to the March 1st Independence Movement and other independence efforts.
