Korea's Largest Interactive Media Park 'Wonder Park' Opens Today
Created on a 1,500-pyeong scale within Seoul Grand Park
10 spaces with over 40 exhibition and experience contents
The experiential media park 'Wonder Park' held its opening ceremony on the 29th at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, and officially began operations.
Wonder Park was created by Magic Flow, established jointly by Shinsegae Construction's leisure division and Media & Space Partners, by revitalizing the entertainment space of the Seoul Grand Park comprehensive information center, which had been vacant for 20 years, into a cultural space of approximately 4,960㎡ (about 1,500 pyeong). The park is themed "A happy Earth where animals, people, and ecosystems coexist" and features over 40 exhibition and experiential contents across 10 zones. These include 'The Great Forest,' where visitors can meet animals living in various climates; 'The Giant Insect World,' which explores insect ecology; and 'Ice Park,' an interactive space where visitors throw balls to eliminate air pollution and waste and save polar bears.

Wonder Park notably introduced interactive media art technology that detects and interacts with visitors' actions through sensors and cameras. Through an augmented reality (AR) app, visitors can save various animals on their smartphones to create their own animal encyclopedia. Shinsegae explained, "While traditional zoos and botanical gardens serve as living ecological learning spaces, Wonder Park allows visitors to experience the diversity of ecosystems and the value of coexistence through media play," adding, "In fact, media content conveying messages about environmental pollution and climate change can be found throughout the park."
Wonder Park operates year-round, opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. Starting at noon on the opening day, a 40% discount event on admission tickets is being held on-site to celebrate the official opening. Online, throughout May, admission tickets are sold at a 10% discount through over 30 channels including SSG.com, Gmarket·Auction, Yanolja, and Naver Reservation. Detailed information is available on the Magic Flow website.
