Three Emergency Patients Including Head Injury Transported Overnight from Chuja Island, Jeju
Three emergency patients occurred on Chuja Island, Jeju, and were urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Agency on the 29th, at around 7:18 PM the previous day, a report was received requesting urgent transport of a pancreatitis patient complaining of abdominal pain on Hoenggando, Chuja. Using the Chuja Police Substation’s high-speed boat, emergency patient A (male, in his 50s) was transported to Chuja Island and received an examination at the Chuja Health Center.

As a result, a detailed examination was required, so he boarded a 500-ton patrol vessel using a private marine rescue boat from Chuja Island and was handed over to an ambulance from the Port 119 Center waiting at Jeju Port at around 12:05 AM that day.
Additionally, immediately after the transport, at around 12:06 AM that day, two more patients occurred on Chuja Island, prompting additional operations.
Emergency patient B (male, in his 50s) suffered a head injury after falling on a slope within Chuja Island at around 11:35 PM the previous day, and emergency patient C (male, in his 20s) was injured in the abdomen after falling onto broken glass inside a lodging at around 11:50 PM the previous day. Both visited the Chuja Health Center.
Upon receiving the report, the Jeju Coast Guard immediately arranged a private marine rescue boat from Chuja Island. Police officers, two emergency patients, and three guardians boarded and at around 2:10 AM transferred them to the 500-ton patrol vessel, which then headed directly to Jeju Port. At around 4:00 AM, emergency patients B and C were safely handed over to the 119 emergency medical team waiting at Jeju Port.
This year, the Jeju Coast Guard has been doing its best to protect the lives of citizens by transporting a total of nine emergency patients.
